Ram Darbar

This intricate Madhubani-inspired painting portrays Ram Darbar, with Lord Rama and Sita seated together at the centre beneath an ornate ceremonial canopy. They are surrounded by devoted attendants, including Hanuman and other figures in reverence, creating a composition centred on devotion, righteousness, loyalty, and divine harmony. The artwork is distinguished by its meticulous black-and-cream linework, elaborate crowns and jewellery, richly patterned garments, and densely filled floral and geometric motifs. The peacock-adorned canopy, decorative flooring, floral foliage, and layered borders add depth while maintaining the characteristic flat, ornamental quality of Mithila folk art. The highly detailed floral border and repetitive geometric patterns frame the narrative scene, giving the artwork a strong architectural and decorative presence. Its traditional storytelling aesthetic makes it well suited for devotional spaces, heritage interiors, cultural collections, contemporary décor, and installations celebrating India’s folk-art traditions.
